I knew the path well travelled by this old fox. I found my place behind an old famine wall, collapsed by generations of cattle and sheep, deer, badger and fox passing through. I positioned my lens on my hammock bag, upon a rock and waited, as I had many times before, but this day I received my reward for persevering patiently. As he walked the path, he nestled down a few metres from me to rest and clean his coat. I waited, waited some more, and when he turned, he was looking right down my lens; I got two shots; this is one of them.
